\nMariska Hargitay told Variety<\/em> at the HBO Max Emmy Nominee Celebration that New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is \u201cdefinitely\u201d getting a role in \u201cLaw and Order: Special Victims Unit.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s definitely happening,\u201d Hargitay said. \u201cHe\u2019s kind of magnificent that way. He is just open and ready. I don\u2019t think there is much Jalen can\u2019t do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked if she wants to help Brunson get an Emmy nomination on top of his recent NBA championship, Hargitay said. \u201cI do! I don\u2019t think he can handle any more awards, to be honest. Right now, I think he\u2019s like, \u2018Give me a rest.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBrunson\u2019s role on the long-running NBC procedural has been teased since the moment he stepped off the court after his championship win against the San Antonio Spurs in June. When a reporter asked what he planned to do in the offseason, Brunson said, \u201cTry to get on \u2018SVU.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHargitay has likewise been dropping hints that the Knicks star will soon join the show. During an appearance on \u201cToday,\u201d she said of Brunson\u2019s role, \u201cI\u2019m hoping that we might \u2014 don\u2019t tell anyone, but \u2014 see him on SVU.\u2019\u201d She added, \u201cWe\u2019ve got some things in the works.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an interview with TMZ Sports, former \u201cSVU\u201d star Christopher Meloni said Brunson \u201cabsolutely\u201d has what it takes to get a role on the show.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t know if you\u2019ve heard, but he\u2019s the world champion,\u201d Meloni said. \u201cHe can do whatever the hell he wants.\u201d He then added, \u201cHe\u2019s got the force of will.\u201d<\/p>\n
