\n\tShut up! Oscar winner Anne Hathaway is officially a Disney Legend. <\/p>\n

\n\tHathaway was officially inducted into Disney\u2019s hall of fame on Sunday afternoon during D23, the company\u2019s weekend-long ultimate fan event.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI am here today because I\u2019m one of the most insanely lucky people in the world,\u201d Hathaway said after her \u201cDevil Wears Prada\u201d director David Frankel and Vogue editor Anna Wintour introduced her to the stage, where she received a massive round of applause.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHow lucky am I that I was born into a family where acting, storytelling and imagination were valued and celebrated,\u201d she said, pointing out her parents in the audience. Hathaway was also joined by her husband Adam Shulman (who she confirms \u201cmakes her foot pop\u201d) and their two sons, Jonathan and Jack.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe honor comes 25 years after Hathaway made her big-screen debut as Mia Thermopolis in Disney\u2019s \u201cThe Princess Diaries,\u201d which hit theaters on Aug. 3, 2001. Her Disney legend continued with 2004\u2019s \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada,\u201d where she played Andy Sachs, assistant to the boss from hell at the glossy fashion magazine, Runway. Hathaway reprised that role earlier this year in \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada 2,\u201d which grossed more than $690 million worldwide, bringing the franchise total above the $1 billion mark.<\/p>\n

\n\tThus, Hathaway\u2019s list of thank yous included the late Garry Marshall, who chose her to play the Genovian princess-to-be, as well as Debra Martin Chase and the late Whitney Houston who produced the movie, which was once called \u201cThe Princess of Tribeca.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m so lucky that my first booking led to so many opportunities when I was still so young, [like] getting a job that a million girls were built for in the \u2018The Devil Wears Prada,’\u201d Hathaway continued. \u201cI got to be with Stanley Tucci. I got to be with Emily Blunt. I got to be with um\u2026oh what\u2019s her name,\u201d she said, pretending to forget Meryl Streep\u2019s name. \u201cI\u2019ve gotten to spend my life so far, doing what I love, having so many adventures along the way, knowing joy and valuing the extraordinary good fortune that allows me to share my life with my greatest blessing \u2014 a family I couldn\u2019t love more.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPrada\u201d director Frankel presented Hathaway with the honor, telling the crowd how the studio originally wanted another actress for the role. \u201cThank God for Meryl Streep,\u201d Frankel said. \u201cShe saw Annie\u2019s performance in \u2018Brokeback Mountain\u2019 and said, \u2018Yeah, this girl.\u2019 Game recognizes game.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThen, Wintour appeared via video to pay tribute to the star. \u201cOver the years, I\u2019ve gotten to know Anne as an ideal front row companion, as well as a perfect theater date,\u201d Wintour said. \u201cBut I recently had the chance to do a small comedy routine with her at the Oscars. Which, I confess, was a little like stepping onto the dance floor with Fred Astaire. Fortunately, Anne made it incredibly easy for me, which is something she seems to do for everyone, at every time. There is so much to admire about Anne: her work ethic, her talent, her versatility, but most of all, it\u2019s her kindness that is so impressive.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJoining Hathaway in the Disney Legends class of 2026 are former Disney CEO Bob Iger, Dwayne Johnson, the Jonas Brothers, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Alan Tudyk, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, sportscaster Chris Berman, animator Eric Goldberg, Imagineer Kim Irvine and stage and voice actress Susan Egan.<\/p>\n

\n\tSunday afternoon\u2019s ceremony was Hathaway\u2019s second trip to Anaheim this weekend for D23. She made a surprise appearance at the Disney Entertainment Showcase on Friday night to share an update on the long-awaited threequel \u201cPrincess Diaries 3,\u201d which is expected to continue the story following the 2004 sequel \u201cRoyal Engagement\u201d rather than reboot the franchise.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI very often feel like I\u2019m having the luckiest life because my first film was embraced so completely by an audience that took it so deep into their hearts, and they\u2019ve never let it go,\u201d Hathaway told Variety<\/em> last Sunday at the premiere of \u201cThe End of Oak Street\u201d for Warner Bros. \u201cMy mom is always sending me pictures, like, \u2018Oh, my friend\u2019s daughter had a \u201cPrincess Diaries\u201d engagement party.\u2019 And so it\u2019s become this something far bigger than the film, something far bigger than me, certainly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI know it sounds like such a diplomatic, political thing to say, but it truly is the privilege of my life to have been a part of something that has become a part of other people\u2019s lives. It feels like it\u2019s more than just a film,\u201d she continued. \u201cOutside of my family, movies are the thing that I love most in this world. So I\u2019m happy when I know that I\u2019m in a community full of people that love movies and love them as deeply as I do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t2026 has been a massive year for Hathaway, who stars in five movies, including \u201cThe End of Oak Street,\u201d which hit theaters on Friday. The dinosaur action movie grossed $47 million on opening weekend, bringing Hathaway\u2019s box office haul for the year over $2 billion, factoring in \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d (which has grossed $1.29 billion and counting), \u201cMother Mary\u201d ($3 million), \u201cThe End of Oak Street\u201d and \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada 2.\u201d Hathaway\u2019s fifth and final film of the year, \u201cVerity,\u201d an adaptation of Colleen Hoover\u2019s chiller, debuts on October 2. (Hathaway\u2019s \u201cOdyssey\u201d co-stars Zendaya, Tom Holland and Bennie Safdie also crossed the box office milestone this year.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s overwhelming. It\u2019s a joy, and it\u2019s incredible,\u201d Hathaway said about this uber-successful season. \u201cHaving done this for as long as I have, I know the rarity of being in such a wide variety of films this year, so I feel incredibly fortunate that that\u2019s been my experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
