With the police inquiry yielding no results and the looming Yugoslav Wars diverting attention, the girl\u2019s family is left with no choice but to embark on their own investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAlmost 30 years of pursuit not only erodes the bonds within the local community but mirror the fate of a whole nation, leaving everyone to reflect on their own personal responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe series is directed by Antoneta Alamat Kusijanovi\u0107, whose feature film \u201cMurina\u201d was honored at the Cannes Film Festival with the Cam\u00e9ra d\u2019Or, while Canneseries-winning writer Ljubica Lukovi\u0107 (\u201cAwake\u201d) is responsible for the scripts, and the Academy Award-nominated Danijel Pek (\u201cThe Man Who Could Not Remain Silent\u201d) is producing. A chronicle of social upheaval, it offers an effortless insight into the major historical events in the Western Balkans following 1989 and marks an authentic portrayal of the final years of Yugoslavia up to Croatia\u2019s present-day tourist-driven landscape.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWolfgang Bergmann, CEO of Arte Germany and Arte coordinator at ZDF, said, \u201cThe European context of \u2018Red Water\u2019 aligns well with Arte\u2019s profile.
