\nHayden Panettiere \u201cstuck up for background actors when they were mistreated\u201d on the \u201cHeroes\u201d set and \u201cknew every crew members name,\u201d her co-star Sendhil Ramamurthy lovingly remembered in a social media tribute to the late actor. Panettiere\u00a0died on Aug. 16 at the age of 36.\u00a0\u201cHeroes\u201d marked one of her most prolific TV series. She starred on four seasons of the NBC series as Claire Bennett, a high school cheerleader with the power of rapid cellular regeneration.<\/p>\n

\n\tRamamurthy, who played Mohinder Suresh on \u201cHeroes,\u201d wrote on Instagram that he first met Panettiere \u201cat the final screen test,\u201d where he was \u201cso nervous\u201d and \u201csweating through\u201d his shirt. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI went straight to the bathroom to compose myself and then went to sign in, expecting to find a bunch of fellow nervous-as-hell actors. Instead I found Hayden belting show tunes in the waiting room,\u201d he remembered. \u201cNot a nerve in sight. I had to leave immediately. I spent the rest of the time in the hallway sweating. Hayden was already a pro. I was nearly twice her age and she had 3x as much experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe duo were ultimately cast in the show, which originally ran on NBC for four season from 2006 to 2010 before being revived as a miniseries in 2015 (the two stars did not return). \u201cHeroes\u201d was a breakthrough sensation for NBC during its first season and Panettiere\u2019s Claire was its breakout character (\u201csave the cheerleader save the world\u201d)<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI learned a lot from her. She stuck up for background actors when they were mistreated, knew every crew members name, and was so generous with her time,\u201d Ramamurthy wrote, also remembering a time after the Golden Globes when the \u201cHeroes\u201d cast had a press day and he wasn\u2019t feeling well. \u201cHayden kept going on and on at me about drinking fluids and made sure I had plenty of Gatorade. That\u2019s how I will remember her: a kind, joyful, professional, shittalker, who even at a young age, understood the importance of hydration. You will be missed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMany of Panettiere\u2019s co-stars have posted emotional tributes to her on social media in the days since her death. ABC\u2019s \u201cNashville\u201d was another one of the late actor\u2019s TV hits. Her co-star Connie Britton shared behind-the-scenes photos from their time working together.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis was Hayden. Bursting with brilliance, shining so bright,\u201d Britton posted on social media. \u201cI have no words for this sad song. Just heartbreak. I love you girl. Sleep easy now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPanettiere\u2019s death is currently under investigation, but there were \u201cnot any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances,\u201d according to police.<\/p>\n
