Film Festival Haugesund,  Danielsen Lie and Ottersen were recognized for contributing to \u201cbuilding the professionalism and high standards of Norway\u2019s acting community, both on the theatre stage and in the film and television industry,\u201d noted the committee. They join the ranks of Liv Ullmann, P\u00e5l Sverre Hagen and Renate Reinsve.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cDo I look back? I haven\u2019t had much time to reflect on this yet because my life is so hectic at the moment. But I do remember releasing [his 1990 acting debut] \u2018Herman\u2019 in Haugesund more than 30 years ago, so it feels full circle to receive this honor here,\u201d Anders Danielsen Lie told\u00a0<em>Variety.<\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI think I dreamed of becoming a great actor when I was a young adult, but I abandoned that dream when I started med school. It was Joachim Trier\u2019s first film that restarted my career,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI think there are several \u2018before\u2019 and \u2018after\u2019 moments in my career, with the first being \u2018Reprise\u2019. If it weren\u2019t for that film, I would never have worked as an actor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWhile \u201cOslo, August 31st\u201d was probably \u201cthe biggest turning point\u201d in his career, smash hits \u201cThe Worst Person in the World\u201d and \u201cSentimental Value\u201d \u2013 also directed by Trier \u2013 introduced him to an even bigger audience.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s always hard to say exactly why a film is loved by the audience, but they both tell stories that are relatable to many people. They are very entertaining films, but they also have an almost therapeutic quality to them,\u201d he noted, adding: \u201cI\u2019m a bit surprised I have an international career, because I\u2019ve always been ambivalent about acting \u2013 but hopefully that adds an extra layer of complexity to my work!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/relocationobserver.com\/?p=6453\">Dr. Dre Says the Only People Who See AI as a Threat Are Those \u2018Who Have Trouble Creating\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tFollowing \u201cSentimental Value\u2019s\u201d Oscar win \u2013 and nine nominations \u2013 Norwegian films definitely have an international momentum at the moment, he noted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI think there are several reasons for that. One is that we have great funding opportunities for films with limited commercial potential. I think Norwegian cinema as a whole has much more self-confidence now, which has been built up over many years. What we see now is the end result of a long evolution.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnne Marie Ottersen was surprised by the recognition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cIt was totally unexpected, but [it made me] very happy. In theater, most of what we do is gone with the wind once the performance is over. But now I\u2019m written in stone, and that will last almost forever,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tOttersen joined the National Theatre in 1970, and won the Amanda Award for \u201cWives \u2013 Ten Years Later.\u201d Her latest film, \u201cThe Pension Heist\u201d directed by Gunnbj\u00f6rg Gunnarsd\u00f3ttir, will be released in October.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cThe best thing I can say about my career is that I have been lucky to do so many different things. There have been difficult periods, of course, but I have the best job in the world, and I\u2019m still working.
