\n\tA \u201cBel-Air\u201d spinoff is in the works at Peacock.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHilary,\u201d an offshoot of the Will Smith-inspired drama series starring Coco Jones, is in development at the streamer. The project hails from writer-producer Tracy Oliver, co-writer of \u201cGirls Trip\u201d and \u201cLittle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIf the series moves forward, \u201cBel-Air\u201d will become Peacock\u2019s first scripted original series to get a spinoff.<\/p>\n

\n\tJones played Will Smith\u2019s (Jabari Banks) cousin Hilary Banks across all four seasons of \u201cBel-Air,\u201d a dramatic reimagining of \u201cThe Fresh Prince of Bel-Air\u201d that became a breakout hit for Peacock. The show followed Will Smith\u2019s journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the luxurious gated mansions of Bel-Air. (We all know the song\u2026)<\/p>\n

\n\tThe logline of \u201cHilary\u201d reads, \u201cAfter accepting an unexpected job offer from celebrity chef Yvonne Durand, Hilary Banks impulsively moves to New York determined to prove herself beyond her Bel-Air connections \u2014 only to find that success, friendship and love in the city come with a cost she never anticipated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJones and Oliver executive produce\u00a0\u201cHilary\u201d\u00a0alongside Will Smith, Terence Carter, David Boorstein and Miguel Melendez of Westbrook Studios; Benny Medina, Andy Borowitz, Susan Borowitz, Morgan Cooper, the Jeff Pollack trust and the Quincy Jones estate.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to work on \u201cBel-Air,\u201d Jones got her start as a child actor on Disney\u2019s \u201cSo Random\u201d and \u201cLet It Shine.\u201d Her credits also include \u201cVampires vs. the Bronx\u201d and \u201cStrung,\u201d and she is the Grammy-winning singer behind the hit R&B song \u201cICU.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWith \u201cGirls Trip,\u201d Oliver became the first Black woman to write a film that grossed more than $100 million at the global box office. Her credits also include \u201cThe Sun Is Also a Star\u201d and \u201cThe Blackening.\u201d<\/p>\n
