\nLisa Rinna has starred in her own reality series and she has guested on many others, but she is no supporter of fellow reality star Spencer Pratt\u2018s campaign to become the next mayor of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

\n\tRinna weighed in on L.A.\u2019s fractured mayoral race as she stopped to speak with Variety on the red carpet outside the American Music Awards at Las Vegas\u2019 MGM Grand Garden Arena. Queen Latifah is host.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t know yet,\u201d Rinna said when asked who she supported in the contest. She was quick to add that she was not behind Pratt, the star of MTV\u2019s unscripted hit \u201cThe Hills\u201d who has gained traction in the polls as he has attacked incumbent Karen Bass over the city\u2019s handling of the Palisades fire in January 2025. Pratt and his reality TV star wife Heidi Montag lost a home in the devastating wildfires.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNot a reality star, though,\u201d Rinna said with conviction. \u201cI love him [Pratt], but we\u2019ve already done that. We\u2019re not going to do that again,\u201d she said, in an apparent reference to President Donald Trump, who\u2019s national profile grew exponentially in the mid-2000s when he toplined NBC\u2019s reality series \u201cThe Apprentice.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen pressed as to why Pratt is garnering more industry supporters, Rinna was blunt.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou got me, because listen, I\u2019m a reality person. You wouldn\u2019t want me as mayor, really. I mean, let\u2019s just face it, I love him. I think he\u2019s amazing. I just think we did that,\u201d she said. Rinna briefly conflated the mayor\u2019s race with the California\u2019s equally bonkers gubernatorial contest. The state\u2019s June 2 primary has galvanized public attention on the first phase of the state\u2019s 2026 election cycle. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLet\u2019s have somebody that\u2019s already been mayor \u2014 the mayor of San Jose, or whoever,\u201d Rinna said, citing Matt Mahan, who is a candidate for governor. Rinna, who wore a stylish brown oversized suit and an extra-long, polka dot tie with an image of President John F. Kennedy, graciously acknowledged that she stood corrected.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI like him,\u201d Rinna said of Mahan. \u201cI like him for governor.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRinna first gained fame as a star of the enduring NBC daytime soap \u201cDays of Our Lives.\u201d She and her husband, actor Harry Hamlin, starred in the TV Land series \u201cHarry Loves Lisa.\u201d She was also featured in Bravo\u2019s \u201cReal Housewives of Beverly Hills\u201d from 2014 to 2022. Rinna and Hamlin remain staples on the talk show, competition and reality series circuit.<\/p>\n
