\nRussell Crowe gave fans a warning before signing autographs outside of his hotel in Paris, saying that if the waiting crowd got out of control he\u2019d walk.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAre you listening?\u201d the \u201cGladiator\u201d star told autograph-seekers as they surrounded the steps, motioning with his arms to overcome any potential language barriers. \u201cStay where you are, don\u2019t fucking push in on me and I\u2019ll come to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cGive everybody space,\u201d he added. \u201cAs soon as somebody\u2019s a dick, I\u2019m going. Clear?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs the crowd assented, Crowe, clad in a navy blue polo shirt and slacks, began swiftly signing \u201cGladiator\u201d memorabilia. However when one fan pushed his luck, asking the star if he\u2019d add the name \u201cMaximums\u201d \u2013 Crowe\u2019s character in the Ridley Scott epic \u2013 to his signature, Crowe declined before moving on to another fan.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe video of the interaction appeared to have been taken by a fellow fan in the crowd.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor, who was spotted at the French Open tennis tournament in Paris on Sunday, responded afterwards to TMZ\u2019s posting of the video on X with the caption: \u201cIf you needed a reminder that fans are not always priority No. 1 \u2014 turn to Russell Crowe \u2014 cause the guy was absolutely not having it outside of his Paris hotel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCrowe replied to the X post: \u201cClickbait. Everybody got their autograph and selfie, the passage to the hotel was kept free for guests, and I still got to the airport on time. One man, no security. Handled. What\u2019s your problem?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s not the first time a video has gone viral of a Hollywood star doing their own crowd-control in continental Europe. In 2024 Anne Hathaway memorably ran into a group of overzealous fans in Italy, where she was filmed addressing them in a mixture of Italian and English. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCalma, calma, calma, please, per favore, calma,\u201d Hathaway said slowly, as she raised her hands. \u201cI cannot take photos with everyone but I will stand here and wave if you\u2019d like to take a photo. I cannot sign, there\u2019s too many of you, mi dispiace [I\u2019m sorry], but I want you to have something, so if you\u2019d like I\u2019ll just wave a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n
