The logline teases: \u201cAs the past comes into focus, the question isn\u2019t just what happened, but who owns a family\u2019s story, and what is the cost to tell it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cOther Desert Cities\u201d will play for Broadway\u2019s Hudson Theatre, with previews starting Sept. 29 ahead of opening night on Oct. 18. The limited engagement will end on Jan. 17. John Benjamin Hickey is directing the revival of Jon Robin Baitz\u2019s play, which was first staged at Lincoln Center in 2011 before transferring to Broadway later that year. <\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI had, more or less, talked myself out of imagining\u00a0\u2018Other Desert Cities\u2019\u00a0back in New York. But John Hickey is family to me, and I trust him completely. We go back longer than I ever imagined: he hears a play \u2013 its ideas, its feeling, its music \u2013 with an intelligence and knowingness that anchors a room,\u201d Baitz said. \u201cAnd with this company of actors, a playwright dreams about, I thought that if there were still something alive in it, they would find it. I acted in two of them early in my career, and when I recently revisited\u00a0\u2018Other Desert Cities,\u2019 I was stunned at how relevant the play remains, maybe now more than ever,\u201d Hickey said. \u201cTo be able to bring it back to Broadway, with this powerhouse ensemble of actors, and incredible creative team, is a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cOther Desert Cities\u201d is produced by ATG Productions,\u00a0Bad Robot Live, Gavin Kalin Productions, Kristin Caskey, Bee Carrozzini and Mike Isaacson.
