\nThe Chicks will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their multiply Grammy-winning \u201cTaking the Long Way\u201d album with a 10-city, 16-date run through U.S. theaters this fall.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt marks the trio\u2019s first trip out on the road in America since they did an arena tour in 2023.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe tour has a subtitle: \u201cStill Not Ready to Make Nice,\u201d a nod to the anthem that fired up fans and defenders in 2006, three years after the group \u2014 then the Dixie Chicks \u2014 was embroiled in an explosive controversy that had conservatives attacking the women for their comments on President Bush and the Iraq War.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNot Ready to Make Nice\u201d won the Grammy for both record of the year and song of the year, while \u201cTaking the Long Way\u201d picked up album of the year \u2014 a rare trifecta in the Grammys\u2019 top three categories.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe anniversary tour begins with a single show in Detroit at the Fox Theatre Sept. 30, and wraps up just over a month later with two shows at Hollywood\u2019s Dolby Theatre. (The latter venue is where they filmed their \u201cAn Evening with the Dixie Chicks\u201d DVD in 2002, promoting their \u201cHome\u201d album, in the calm before the storm to come.)<\/p>\n

\n\tOther stops include two-night stands in New York (at the Beacon), Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle and San Antonio. The group will be doing one-nighters in Washington, D.C., Nashville and Austin.<\/p>\n

\n\tTicket sales will kick off with an artist presale beginning June 3 at 10 a.m. local time, followed by a general on-sale starting June 4, also at 10 local time. Information can be found at\u00a0Thechicks.com\/tour.<\/p>\n

Participation in the artist presale involves signing up at https:\/\/signup.livenation.com\/thechicks\u00a0by the end of day this Sunday.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Chicks do have a handful of shows already lined up for this summer, ahead of the \u201cTaking the Long Way\u201d tour starting at the end of September. They are opening four stadium gigs for Tim McGraw in July and August. The group is also doing isolated dates in Atlantic City, Highland, Calif., Lincoln, Calif., Missoula, MT and Springfield, Ill. during the summer. Earlier this year, they did their first show in some time as headliners at Brandi Carlile\u2019s Girls Just Wanna Weekend festival in Mexico.<\/p>\n
