The Beastie Boys recorded most of their classic run of \u201890s albums there \u2014 \u201cCheck Your Head,\u201d \u201cIll Communication\u201d and \u201cHello Nasty\u201d \u2014 along with videos like \u201cPass the Mic.\u201d Beck, Biz Markie, Run-DMC, Redd Kross and Luscious Jackson all worked there as well.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe space later housed such tenants as Diplo, Han Cholo Jewelry, X-Large Clothing and Mad Decent Records, but has since fallen into disrepair and was on the verge of being demolished. The venture was founded by Deborah Harpur, previously a rights and marketing veteran for Netflix, Warner Bros., and Disney franchises, along with an all-female founding team including Emmy-winning VFX producer Kymber Lim and former Revlon CMO Charlotte Amouy Adjchavanich.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAccording to the announcement, FanClub AI aims to \u201creshape how intellectual property assets are recognized, managed and monetized through a new infrastructure that protects rights at scale while turning AI training into revenue streams for rights holders and future-proofing for e-commerce.\u201d Its first product is FanClub Library Vault.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cOur Library Vault will be the first secure global repository where AI can be trained to recognize assets, block their unauthorized usage and monetize them while setting clear ethical guidelines for how the IP can be used,\u201d said Harpur.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Wednesday, May 27<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n\t+ <strong>Sony Music <\/strong>and <strong>Julie Swidler<\/strong>, the company\u2019s longtime executive VP of business affairs and general counsel, have announced her \u201clong-planned\u201d departure at the end of June.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn making the announcement, Sony Music Group Chairman Rob Stringer said: \u201cJulie has been a vital component of the Sony Music senior management team for many years and her wisdom, experience and knowledge has been a bedrock of our company\u2019s strategy and growth.
